What is relationship between size of horizontal rods on tv aerial and size of tv wave?
Uhf antennas have short rods because they receive high frequency waves but is the relationship in terms of size, for example, are the rods half the wavelength?
Similarly for the older non UHF aerials which have a variety of lengths of horizontal bars.
The reflector is usually half wavelength.
The actividipole dipole is bout 5 or 10% shorter
and all the driectors are again 5 to 10%
As a receiving aerial acts in exactly the same manner as when used for transmission all domestic aerials are tested with a low power transmitter to check and reduce unwanted side nodes.
