When and who had the first GPS in United States?
Having a very intense discussion on who came out with the first GPS and what year.
I had a Delorme Earthmate for a laptop in 1995 and think it was first.
My friend says Garmin had first. I think Garmin may have had the first GPS not needing a laptop.
Anyone know the first and what year?
actually, it was SONY in about 1988
it was very slow - serial receivers. no output port.
between earthmate and any Garmin, Garmin had the first commercial GPS by about 1 year (1993 or so).
