Is there any theory or principle in physics that...?
Is there any theory or principle in physics that explains how raindrops decreases as it fall into a windshield with respect to time and friction of the surface? Either it is affected by external factors such as the angular direction of the travel. In short, is there a theory or principle in physics (that has formula too, if possible) that explains the decrease of a volume of a liquid as it travels an inclined frictioned surface with respect to time? Thanks
The volume won't decrease (where would it go?) - it will spread out to a film or coating.
The forces are internal forces - the viscosity and surface tension of rainwater - and those formulas are, IMHO, brutal --- tensor calculus. If you haven't stolen anything or killed anybody, then you shouldn't be made to do tensor calculus.
The effects of the trailing "cone" that gives the raindrop it's characteristic shape slamming into the bulk of the drop immediately after impact -- well, now you're in the territory of supercomputers. Even with a supercomputer, you would have to make many simplifications regarding the exact surface the drop hits, the uniformity of water temperature throughout the drop, the turbulence withing the drop as these things are unfolding, the effects of wind on the windshield.
