what are the impacts of gprs to gsm mobile communication wireless network?
I would like to know the procedures involved in integrating the gprs features into the gsm mobile communication wireless network.In addition to that what impacts,either positve or negative do follow or expected after the gsm mobile communication wireless is integrated with gprs features
As far as procedures, that would depend on who the vendor is, but generally speaking...
You have to decide how many air timeslots are going to be used for gprs and, of these, how many will be solely dedicated to gprs and how many will have dual-use with voice as a priority ("on-demand" timeslots). The trade-off is that if you have too many dedicated gprs timeslots, you lose voice capacity. Too many on-demand timeslots requires more equipment and transmission - remember, that with EDGE (an enhancement of gprs), the timeslot can carry 60 kb/sec instead of just 12 and that puts a higher demand on the abis interface. You will also need more capacity in your SGSN and Gb interface.
Of course, you want to meet the data requirements of the subscribers, so it's important that you have sufficient capacity. As always, this will depend on the nature of the subscribers, so keep a sharp eye on the counters.
