Question about the TomTom Gps Navigation System?
I'm considering purchasing a GPS navigation system. My only concern is when you get directions from the unit, how does it know where you want to go? Does it have a microphone on it? Does it have a Touch Screen to enter the address? Do you have to connect it to the internet and program where you want to go?.
I have a Tomtom One.
Does it have a microphone on it? Answer: Yes, but not for entering a destination. The TomTom ONE works via Bluetooth with a Cell Phone to create a hands free device.
Does it have a touch screen to enter the address? Answer: Yes.
Do you have to connect it to the Internet and program where you want to go?. Answer: No. You don't connect to the Internet to plan your itinerary, but you do connect via a pc to TomTom's web site in order to download the updates.
TomTom ONE comes with pc software that allows you to plan an itinerary on you pc and then upload it to the Gps Device (no Internet connection required - just a pc and the USB cable that comes with the TomTom). So, you can enter your destination using the touch screen, or using a pc. Using the pc is great for advanced planning.
